All staff will wear gloves and face masks if administering first aid. Face masks and gloves will be available to all staff.

Parents will be requested to wear masks on arrival, on the poolside and in changing areas.

Soap and hand towels will readily be available in all toilets. Hand dryers will not be in use. Bins are provided for hand towels and will be emptied regularly throughout the day.

In line with guidance from The Pool Water Treatment Advisory Group (PWTAG), we will be maintaining chlorine levels which comply with regulations and is proven to disinfect pathogens, including viruses such as Covid -19.

Please arrive 5 minutes before for your lesson. If you arrive early, the front door will be locked to avoid too many people congregating in the lobby/reception area.

In line with the social distancing requirements, we have reduced our class sizes and have

fewer classes to ensure that the facility does not become too overcrowded.

The soft play area will be closed until further notice.

Please do not bring siblings unless they are booked for a lesson. They must remain with you at all times. We cant look after them.

We have introduced a one way system and clear floor signage will be in place to indicate

seating on the poolside and on entry and exit to the pool facility.

Social distancing must be observed on poolside and throughout change over lessons.

A maximum of 7 in the pool at any one time including teacher. The numbers may reduce for different activities/lessons where more movement around the water is required, where social distancing can not be maintained.

Parent and baby is still classed as 1

We ask all parents ( in water ) and children to attend lessons ‘pool ready’ with swimwear

already on. After the lesson, we request that parents do not congregate on poolside and exit via the changing room fire escape as quickly as possible.

To ensure everyone adheres to the government guidance of 2 meter distancing and to avoid overcrowding only one parent per child to attend the centre.

No prams or pushchairs to be brought into the lobby area. Baby carriers/car seats are permitted on the poolside and are to remain in your designated area.

There will be markers in place in the changing area and on the poolside to assist with social distancing requirements. We ask that you and your child(ren) shower at home before and after swimming. Unless disabled or special needs.

Please do not bring any valuables as lockers will remain out of use until social distancing measures ease further.

Please adjust your child's goggles and make sure hats are on properly before entering the water.

Our risk assessment has determined that it is safer and more productive for a teacher to be in the water for non swimmer lessons.

Teachers will teach from a ‘side angle’ so they are not directly facing the children or parents. Alternatively woggles will be used to maintain social distancing.

Lessons will be structured so activities can be completed whilst social distancing is maintained.

If your child or anyone in your household begins to show any of the following symptoms, please do not attend your swimming lesson.

A loss of taste and smell.

A new, continuous cough

A high temperature.

At the time of booking, parents will declare by ticking the “ I agree to the terms and conditions box ” that both they and their child(ren) have not been in close contact with anyone who has tested positive with Covid-19 within the last 14 days and if they have, that they have self isolated for 14 days.

Staff will complete a health declaration, confirming that they have not been in contact with anyone who has tested positive with Covid-19 within the last 14 days. Staff will complete this health declaration every two weeks.

All pool use must be recorded for contact tracing. All parents agree that main contact details will be used to provide this for track/test and trace service on request.
